Motility Select™ contains a unique blend of carefully selected ingredients that have been researched to help support the healthy, robust function of the migrating motor complex (MMC). The MMC produces a "cleansing wave" that sweeps food, bacteria and debris out of the stomach and small intestine towards the colon, and is active during inter-digestive periods- between meals when the digestive system is at rest. - ORGANIC GINGER ROOT is the primary ingredient in Motility Select™. Ginger has a powerful stimulating effect on gastric motility. It has been researched for exhibiting potent prokinetic activity in both animals and humans.
- GUT-GARD™ DGL EXTRACT is a safe, highly concentrated licorice extract from which the glycyrrhetinic acid (a compound which can impact blood pressure levels) has been removed. Licorice is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to help regulate healthy GI function and to balance stress by supporting adrenal function. Research suggests that GutGard™ can help stimulate motility by enhancing gastric emptying and gastrointestinal transit time.
- 5-HTP helps to increase serotonin levels in the body. Serotonin is the primary neurotransmitter in the gastrointestinal tract where it is responsibly for regulating intestinal motility. Research in both animals and humans shows that serotonin increases gut motility and accelerates intestinal transit time.
- MERIVA® CURCUMIN PHYTOSOME is a highly bioavailable form of curcumin, the primary active compound in the curry spice turmeric. Dietary turmeric may help to activate bowel motility and decrease small intestine transit time. Curcumin, a powerful antioxidant, has been shown to exert a positive influence on the gut-brain axis. Curcumin also has been studied to improve gastric emptying time via mechanisms that include helping to decrease oxidative stress.
